A Boston-area mahogany card table of the American Classical (or Empire) period, showing the influence of Isaac Vose, especially in the flat tablet-like front skirt with scrolled returns. The dramatic concave pedestal is supported by a conforming plinth and carved scroll feet. The wood figure on the solid mahogany top and veneered base is quite emphatic. Secondary woods are poplar and birch. Minor patches to the edges of tops and to veneers on the base.
